In a medieval village, professions included farmers, blacksmiths, carpenters, weavers, bakers, millers, and potters. Farmers were essential for providing food for the village, while blacksmiths and carpenters created tools and equipment. Weavers produced textiles, bakers made bread, millers ground grain into flour, and potters crafted pottery for everyday use. Additionally, there were also professions such as innkeepers, barbers, and midwives who provided services to the villagers. **

In a medieval village, the hierarchy was typically structured with the lord or noble at the top, followed by the clergy, knights, and then peasants. The lord or noble owned the land and had the most power and wealth, while the clergy held religious authority. Knights were skilled warriors who served the lord in exchange for land, and peasants made up the majority of the population, working the land and paying taxes to the lord. This hierarchical structure was rigid and determined by birth, with little opportunity for social mobility. **

I recommend the "A History of the Ancient World" series by Chester G. Starr, which provides a comprehensive overview of ancient civilizations from the earliest times to the fall of the Roman Empire. Another great series is "The Middle Ages" by Morris Bishop, which offers a detailed and engaging exploration of medieval history. Both series are well-researched, accessible to a wide audience, and provide a thorough understanding of the ancient and medieval world. **

Some building ideas for a medieval village in Minecraft include creating a central marketplace with stalls and shops, constructing a blacksmith's forge, building a tavern or inn for travelers, designing a church or cathedral as a focal point, and adding houses with thatched roofs and cobblestone walls to give the village an authentic medieval feel. Additionally, incorporating a town square with a well, a town hall, and a small farm with crops and animals can further enhance the village's atmosphere. **
